We got snow today...We didn't get the 8 - 10 inches they were calling for but we got enough. This is our first real snow fall of the year.... My youngest waited all day for daddy to get home to help her make a snow man...... I think they did a great job... She is so proud of her snow man.....

I couldn't believe that the kids wanted to stay outside so long... I had to drag her in kicking and screaming because she wanted to stay out with her snow man..... lol... I remember when I was younger my mom having to do the same thing with us.... and now I hate the cold and snow....

I have been soooo busy lately

I am so sorry I have been away from my blog for a while.... I have been sooooo busy with the holiday, work, Kids and taking care of my Golden Retrievers 10 puppies that have been taken so much of my time. The picture above is me and one of my favorite pup out of this litter which went to a good friend of mine. This week we sold everyone of them and they now have wonderful new homes. I am dog sitting for 3 of my puppies tell Christmas eve that way Santa can bring 3 children a Christmas pup.

I am hopping in the next week to get all caught up on my giveaways and my postings... and then I should be up and running again.... I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season.

I hope everyone has had a great thanksgiving.... I had to work a little this morning but for the most part I have enjoyed my day.... Spent it with family and friends and ate way toooooo much.

Sorry I haven't been on the blog since last Friday but I have had so much going on and had a friend come in that I hadn't seen in 7 years so I was spending time with him and getting ready for Thanksgiving.

Now that the turkey day is over ---- Bring on Christmas :-)

Marked Down Meats Are A Win Win In My House

Do you buy marked down meats or do you just pass them up. I always check out the markdown meat section at my local Dillon's. I have a large family and this is a great way to save a lot of money on meat. If you are going to freeze them right away or use them right away this is a great deal....

I saved just under $20 with these 4 packs of meat.... I got 2 roasts for the freezer, 1 family pack of steaks for the freezer and 1 pack of beef boneless ribs for freezer and I used some of it in my stew.

I don't just buy stew meat from the meat department I find that is way to expensive and I never get the amount I need for my large family of 7 in just one pack so I would have to buy several packages. I love to get the family packs of boneless ribs or steaks at a great marked down prices and I cut my own stew meat.

I was able to find a family pack of boneless ribs on marked down and I cut my own stew meat from it and still had enough left over to put in the freezer to use again in another soup or for my husband and I when the kids are gone on the weekend.

This is a great way to save money on your meat budget.. below is a beef recipe that I use for my stew I useally just pull this out of my head and throw it together.. But I have written it down for you the best I could ..... (Keep in mind I have a family of 7)

My Easy Beef Stew: (I use my large crock pot)

6 - 7 (14 1/2 oz) cans Beef Broth
Potatoes - 8 medium cut in cubs
Carrots - *I use a small bag of baby carrots and just cut them in thick slices*
Onions *I just chop a bunch up to my liking*
2 tbs of flour per can of broth used
1 cup water
Salt and pepper for flavor you judge how much of if any
*you can always substitute fresh for frozen veg's if you have them in your freezer already - I always just use fresh*
Beef For Stew - I use about 2.5 - 3 lbs
*you judge how much you want in it, my family likes a lot of meat in ours*

Brown your beef in skillet until it is cooked all the way.... while beef is cooking add broth to your crock pot and set on high... when beef is cooked add it to the crock pot and cook for a couple of hours... Cut all of your vegetables: carrots, potatoes, onions and then add them to the crock pot with salt and pepper... Cook on high another 2 hours or until your meat and veg's are tender. Add the flour and water in a small bowl and mix them well and add it to the stew in the crock pot. turn to low and cook another 30 - 40 minutes or until stew thickens and then serve.

*If your going to cook this all day while at work then brown meat, cut veg's and add everything to broth before leaving for work... Make sure you are putting your crock pot on low in this case to cook all day.... When you return home mix flour and water in separate bowl then put in stew cook another 30 minutes or so until think and then serve....

FyrFlyz - Review Party

My kids were so excited to be able to review these neat FyrFlyz toys. We received a total of ten FyrFlyz in our package so they were able to invite a friend over each to play with them and they got to take theirs home with them as well.

These FyrFlyz can be purchased for under $10 and can be found at a number of places: Toys R Us, CVS, Rite Aid, Transworld, Toyzam, Amazon.com and other specialty retailers also carry them. Click here to find out ones in your area.

Just pictured are two of my kids because the other photos just didn't come out right. These toys light up as they flip them and they look awesome in the dark unfortunately the camera didn't want to take a good picture for me to display it.

As you can see in the pictures my 3 year old had to play with the kids too. So I did allow her while I was supervising but age recommendations for this toy are 8 and up.

Each FyrFlyz has a switch on it to turn on the lights and they had so much fun trying to make the pretty designs by flipping their FyrFlyz that are shown on the back of the box like: Flywheels, Sydwynders, small orbits and Fyrewheels. These would make a great stocking stuffer priced under $10 with Christmas right around the corner.

HexBug Nano Halloween Zombie Party (Review)

My kids were so excited to be able to invite some of their friends over to our Halloween HexBug Nano Zombie Party so we can review the Halloween HexBugs. We held our HexBug party last Saturday October 22nd and we enjoyed some cool snacks, some wonderful Hexbug games and the kids even got to take home a few HexBugs after it was all over with. Below is a list of items that I received in my HexBug Nano Halloween Zombie Party Kit.

The set was easy to put together the only hard part was keeping the kids off dad while he was building the tracks. So while they waited we had some zombie punch and some mummy dogs. We used the recipes provided for us in the party kit. The kids just gobbled them up.. Yummy.

Dad got the tracks together and with the kids all fed it was time to play with our Halloween glows in the dark HexBugs. The kids were so excited to pick out their bugs and then get them going on the tracks. We then shut all the lights out and they had a blast watching the bugs race around in the dark. The bugs and the tracks lite up in the dark. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a picture of them glowing.
All the kids had fun playing with the large HexBug Larva we received in our kit. They have little censors that kept them from running in to objects. They had a blast moving objects in front of them to get them to back up and move another direction. These were a big hit at my house.

They played for the entire time of the party with these HexBugs and the Larva bugs. My kids loved the bigger bugs we got so much that I am going to get them each a different kind of the bigger bugs for Halloween. They have Inchworm, Crab, Ants, Larva and spiders.

During the party we got our other HexBug track sets out and hooked them all together so all the kids could run their Hexbugs at the same time. These tracks all hook together easy and quick. As you can tell from the picture below we have enough Hexbug tracks to make 2 stories and stretch out a ways. I would have to say these are very entertaining and fun to watch and play with.

Home Made Chicken Noodle Soup For Dinner

My kids just love my chicken noodle soup and they requested that I make in tonight and they scarfed it right up..... I make a big pot of chicken noodle soup and it feeds my family of seven.

I don't really follow a recipe I just throw it together... but I will try to put it down for you :-)

Chicken Noodle Soup

6 - 14 oz cans of clear chicken broth
6 bullion cubes (chicken)
1 whole chicken (cooked)
salt and pepper
onion
carrots
celery
5 hand fulls of egg noodles
*I really don't' measure these I just add until it looks good

I put the chicken broth and the bullion cubes in the pot and start it boiling... I cut the carrots, onion and celery (just cut the amount you would like to use for your soup) and let it boil until the carrots are tender... While that is boiling I de bone my chicken. I like to buy the deli roast chicken at Dillon's then use that in my soup but you can use what chicken you have just make sure you cook it before adding it to the soup... Once the carrots start to get tender I put the chicken in let boil again for another few minutes then I put my Egg noodles in the pot until I reach the amount I desire and cook it for about 10 minutes or until the noodles get tender... if you wish put some salt and pepper ... Serve... Feeds my family of Seven....

As you can see by the above picture my family ate the whole pot of soup and all I have left is this dish that may feed me for lunch....

I Was Soooo Busy Yesterday

My Golden Retriever had her puppies yesterday... I was getting ready for work after being up half the night checking and getting ready for puppies and then 8:34 am her first one was born... Needless to say I didn't make it to work yesterday tell later that night. Good thing I'm a cake decorator and I had a back up working yesterday morning where I could shift my schedule. I was off work for 3 days waiting for those puppies and here they come when I was suppose to return to work.

It took all day but we have 10 healthy puppies and mommy is doing great... 10 puppies and its her first litter Wow. We were prepared for a large litter because Golden's can have up to 16 in one litter and my Male was one of 14 in his but I was still hopping for a small one.... At least all 10 are healthy.....

Fun Friday Night With Totino's & Red Box - Review & Giveaway

I received a Friday Night Fun Totino's package for review that included 2 VIP Coupons for 1 Totino's Pizza & 1 Totino's Pizza Rolls, 1 free 1 night Red Box DVD rental, 2 pizza slice plates, 1 pizza cutter & 1 pop corn bucket. I thought this review would be perfect for my youngest daughter and I to do together.

I planned such a wonderful mom and daughter time. We went and rented Transformers 3 from Red Box with our complementary Promo Code and picked up our pizza and pizza rolls from our local store and headed home. I put the pizza and rolls in the oven and she went to lay down on the couch to wait tell it was done. The pizza and rolls took about 10 minutes to cook and a couple of minutes to cool. I put them on our plates and headed for the table just to find out that my 3 year old had fallen asleep on the couch waiting for mom to get the food ready. Sooooo since I couldn't take a good picture of me eating my pizza I just took a picture of my plate.

These Pizza rolls and the Totino's pizza makes a great dinner or lunch for any day. My children just love the pizza and they really love the pizza rolls we pick those up at the store often. Planters Peanut Butter $2 @ Dollar General

I don't know if you have seen the news about the prices of peanut butter going up 30 - 40% at the end of October but my mouth about got stuck open when I saw it on the news.... My kids love PB&J sandwiches for after school snacks.... I was able to stock up a little when the Planters coupons were out a while back got about 8 jars for .75 with my coupons so I have a little back stock but not much.

Planters said they will be increasing their peanut butter by 40% on October 31st. Wow - Holly Cow! it's already cost $3.69 at my local Dillon's stores for a 16 oz size. We use a lot of the Kroger brand when they have it at a great 10/$10 price but my store hasn't had that at all this year :-( . Now I haven't seen any information on whether or not Kroger is raising their price but most of the name brands have already stated theirs will be rising soon.

Dollar General has Planters Peanut Butter on sale this week for $2 each and that is a really good price even with out a coupon. My family likes this brand so I will be going to the Dollar General and picking up a few more bottles to have it on hand in my back stock....

As you can see in the picture above my 3 year old was so happy to receive Prima Princessa Presents Sleeping Beauty for her to review. I didn't even get it out of the envelope before she knew what it was. The envelope had the Prima Princessa Logo on it and she grabbed it out of my hand and said my ballerina, my ballerina. I took it out of the package and she ran to the living room and jump in the chair and said Please I want to watch. She will watch these DVD's all day long if I would let her.

She loves to practice the steps they teach in these videos. They teach each step in a very easy way that a child from age 3 and up can understand it. This DVD is great for children to interact with. They can get up and dance around when it time to do so and when it is time for the ballet to start my little automatically sits down and watches each scene as shown in the picture below.

My little one loves the Prima Princessa Videos so much that we now have all three (Prima Princessa Presents Swan Lake, The Nutcracker & Sleeping Beauty) and she watches them over and over again. She knows exactly where we keep them on our DVD shelf and she will pick these off the shelf first when we ask her what do you want to watch.

She bugged me to buy her wings so she could wear them like the little girls in her video. I took this photo after having to drive to Walmart to buy her some wings.... and we picked up some tissue paper and pipe cleaners to make flowers like they show you how to make on this video...

This video "Sleeping Beauty" had fun crafts and magical tea party that my daughter loved. You can't tell it from the photo below but in front of her is her tea party set she had to set up while watching her video.

I am so impressed and happy with these great DVD's that I have purchased the Nutcracker several times as gifts for my friends little girls birthdays and I'm sure I will be purchasing Sleeping Beauty a lot for gifts as well. They make a wonderful birthday present or even great stocking stuffers at Christmas. These DVD's make a great inexpensive gift for any child.

I am so glad I can run to my local Target and just pick up these at such a great price. I was happy to see the Lucky Charms cereal on sale and the lucky Charms cereal treat bars... My youngest just loves these cereal bars and I had some great coupons on them making the treat bars only a $1... and the Lucky Charms Cereal $1.50.... I purchased more than what is in the picture but only the items I had coupons for or got a great deal on are pictured.

Lucky Charms Cereal is on sale at Dillon's this week for $2.50 each.... There is a printable coupon for .50 off (1) box and Dillon's doubles this to $1.00. That means you can get this cereal for $1.50 a box..... Print your coupon before they hit their limit.... (.50/1 box of Lucky Charms). You can print 2 coupons.

Ad prices are with your Dillon's Plus Card. Please check with your store for a complete list of sale items. My list is just ones that I can match coupons too for my area. There maybe other coupons out there that I miss. This is just a guideline.

My Dillon's stores double coupons .50 and below. They match up to $1 for coupons .51 and up to $1 and My Dillon's accept coupons up to 8 days after the expiration date. Every area is different so please check with your store and their coupon policies about doubling and matching coupons.
